Death Wish, Derailed, Now Back on Track

I was reminded of that old joke when I read about Juan Alvarez, the man allegedly responsible for causing a massive train wreck that left 11 dead and almost 200 injured after he abandoned his SUV on a commuter track. Alvarez, who'd cut and stabbed himself in an apparent attempt to snuff out his own life just prior to leaving the car, is considered suicidal (duh). And what's the punishment the DA comes up with?

The death penalty.

Lovely irony, that.
