Some pundits on the right, CNN blowhard Tucker Carlson among them, have argued that the tsunami aid promised by Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait was inexcusably paltry. Blogger and history professor Juan Cole comes to the defense of these nations by comparing their pledges to the U.S. pledge, per capita. That's not a bad way to do the math (at least for those who absolutely have to have a pissing contest about this sort of thing.) I disagree with Cole more often than not, but OK: When he's right, he's right, and his calculator appears to be in good working order.

Kuwait doesn't seem to be doing too bad
14 billion $ surplus in the past 5 years, not including another 9 billion put in a Fund for Future Generations that now totals 80 Billion ... so Kuwait donates 2.1 million bucks to the tsunami victims. Cole is a pathetic apologist for middle eastern governments.
