England's Little Hitlers

I've written before about the small and big ways that the U.K. is taking on the nasty edges of a police state. Here are a couple more random examples, picked from the local London newspapers:
- Man gets a fine for having filled out his parking permit with a pencil instead of a pen.
- 13-year-old girl spends half a day in cell for throwing a snowball at a police car.

I've been an Anglophile since I was a teenager, and in many ways, London is arguably lovelier now than it has been in decades. A shame that the petty tyrants in uniform seem to be multiplying.
