Outing the devil by playing pop music backwards — whodathunkit, it's back! For that, we have Elder G. Craige Lewis to thank — a fiery minister who likes to preach to our armed forces. On a recent tour of Pacific Rim naval bases, he alleged that on Judgment Day, fire and brimstone will rain down on the evil messengers of hip hop music.
Lewis played a song off Jay-Z’s “Black Album” backward for the audience to hear the “Six, six, six … murder, murder Jesus” within the song. The Oscar-award winning group Three 6 Mafia incorporates Satan’s calling card — the three sixes — into its name, Lewis said. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony used a Satanic document as cover art and the lyrics of Ja Rule, Jay-Z and 50 Cent equate the singers to God, which is a Luciferian concept, he said.
“Lucifer was the chief musician in heaven before he fell to Earth and became Satan,” Lewis said. “It’s ridiculous to see these people thanking God for selling so many records or winning awards. You can’t serve two masters. You can’t dance with the devil and praise the Lord.” He called on parents to destroy their hip-hop CDs and posters and to “tighten things up” for their kids.
No doubt, lots of Kenny G will put our sailors on the straight and narrow.

This guy is a joke
hip hop and rap are to different things

hip hop is dancing, gear, art, and the way we talk

to the comment quote " hip hop is dancing, gear, art and the way we talk" for FACT i know and you can go research it yourself ( google the truth behind hip hop..) or even go to www.exministries.com or google " five percenters" or hip hop culture they are from the Zulu Nation main people leading it are KRS-ONE and Afrikah Bambattaa. They are stating stop worshipping God and be God... they also beileve that the black man is God. The five percenters are made up of gods and earths God being the black man and earths being the black women ( anything that is not of God is against God). They know what they are doing and they are promoting it and before you make a claim about what hip hop or anything else is for that matter get your facts straight know all of what your talking about because this G. craige Lewis researched 12 yrs what he was talking about and he knows what he is talking about. Thats what makes him different from other preachers that are just standing up there and preaching from the bible and not knowing everything behind what they are preaching againts. He knows what hip hop is and if you listen carefully he says that hip hop is not rap... rap is a way to get the most amount of lyrics across to the public in the least amount of time. Hip hop used rap to convey their message they wanted to get to the public fast and that was the way. Get it straight and know all about what your talking about. Just because you said it doesnt mean thats it and the same goes for everyone even G. craige only reason why most ppl beielve him is because if you go and research all of what he said he is right and also he is speaking from a spiritual stand point so it is going to be harder for you to understand if you do not beileve in the first place. All the info is right there for you to see and believe. Oh and one more thing to leave you with... If you are one of those ppl who say oh man wrote the bible so how do you know if its true or how do i know what the preacher ( G. craige Lewis or who ever is saying is true... Because we ( christians) chose to beileve ( again if you do not beileve then you wont quit get the point) and also God made man to have dominion over the world so when ever he needed to do something in the world he used man because thats what he made us to do... his work. Who else would he use... And if God came down and spoke the word straight from his mouth ( keeping in mind that men were made in Gods image) He would look like a man... Regardless what the world has portray God to look like that may not be we do not know what God or Jesus looks like so how would we know and have lost so much trust in people in our world today that you may not beileve him so what do you beileve then. Regardless if God came down to speak you wouldnt know wether to beielve him or not because he would look just like man ( the natural general look of a man... not talkin no style or what not no saggy jeans big tshirt no tight pants and tight shirt ... who know what he would wear. But would it matter because the world wouldnt beileve him because he would be like man)

Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that he is lord, so all of you who don't know god, may he have mercy on you. But the bible says the only way to heaven is through holiness, now ask yaself is hip hop holy, do it sing, rap, mc, and dj about heaven? God says I am the way the truth and the life, some people say hip hop is a way of life, but god is to whom we should give our lives. Now we need to help craig lewis, he's right 100% there's people out there who worship hiphop, people who can't stand to live without it.I can remember craig saying in is message on the truth behind hiphop that the man over hiphop said, that hiphop is the gods and godesses, but god said thall shalt not have any other gods before me, for i am a jelous god.

I am a christian. I appreciate the research and findings of hip-hop through Elder G. Craig Lewis. The only question I have is, why is hip-hop singled out? Rock, Latin, and Pop, etc, I'm sure do not lift up the name of Jesus and we probably could find derogatory notions in each. Please answer this question for me. Do you plan to study the other cultures?

Im responding to Shantae.
I believe that hip hop music was singled out in this video because this is the assignment God gave Elder Craige Lewis. Like some pastors focus on inspiring messages. Some Fire and Brimstone. Some focus on tithes and offerings and Min. Craige Lewis is focusing on what God showed him almost 20 years ago. There is another pastor out now preaching about rock music. I'm sure there is some latino pastor preaching about "explicit music and dances" that go on in latin music. This particular pastor is revealing the Word of God to people who have been influenced by hip hop music and this message has shaken alot of people. And to be honest with you, after seeing that video, the Holy Spirit revealed to me and my husband that other music we had was not good. We didn't own much hip hop but we did have music that was not pleasing to God. So I believe with that video, your eyes were even opened to other genres of music being negative.
Thank you Lord Jesus.

I haven't heard Pastor Craiges message for my self just yet but I do intend on buying the dvds. I was informed about this minister and his message and I couldn't believe my ears. He is absolutely correct in what he says about hip-hop. It is definitely not of God. Lots of music is not,as someone else mentioned but hip-hop is definitely not. I was blown away to learn that the one song of Jay Z's played backwards said what it said about murder Jesus. How dare anyone.
We gotta stand up and let satan know he can't control our minds as he wants to.

This is in responce to Emerald. There is a DVD on Pop, Rock, etc....just so you know. I think that 90% of rap, and hip hop is full of cursing and disrespects women. It talks about smoking this, drinking that, shooting him or her, etc. When it gets down to it, people who embark on these activities will not see the pastors points....point blank. I try to look at it from both sides, but in the end, there isnt much good in rap.

I kind of am starting to believe the things about Jay-Z worshiping the Devil to here his song Lucifer played backwards on the Black Album made me kind of suspicious

I've never heard word like this but it's so so true. Let's not let a good beat deceive us into blasphemy. Children are speaking against God because because they hear it in a song and dont realize what they are saying. Teenage girls are inviting a Jezebel spirits through the lyrics of "icons" like Beyonce. We thought it was just music... the artists are believing their hype... how long before we all believe it to?

jay-z never said murder jesus, this phrase was taken from the lyrics of lucifer yes, but not in this context jay said Lord forgive him He got them dark forces in him But he also got a rightous cause for sinnin Them a (murder) me so i gotta (murder) them first
Emergency doctors performin procedures
(Jesus), the murder jesus things was done by dj danger mouses grey ablum which jay had nothing to do with, he did the murder jesus thing because the grey ablum played off of the black album and the beatles white album
jay never said it and you should research things for yourself before you just listen to one person's half truths

My thanks and appreciation to Elder Craig for the anointed presentations on the Hip Hop music and its impact on our youth. You are God sent for our children. Your work is now serving as a major and positive impact on my 20 years old son who has been detached from me and the rest of my children for over 8 years. May God continue bless your works and hands.

Honestly, I think this guy is just looking for a way to make a quick buck. He's most likely looking for some publicity, and Rap/Hip-Hop being as big as it is nowadays, he took aim and wants to leech off of the multi-million dollar industry's fame. Hip-Hop, Satanic? Hardly.
The reality of that song is that it's not the original. It's from the Grey Album, and the lyrics were chopped up by Dangermouse who cut the Grey Album. Honestly, if you want straight cold hard facts, go out and by the Black Album, copy the songs onto your computer and find out how to get the tracks to play backwards. I'm willing to bet that you won't find any sort of Satanic message there.
People are willing to point fingers, yet people aren't willing to look into the matter themselves. The preacher could have fabricated the whole thing and all of you STILL would have believed him and followed the propaganda that he's spouting.
Now, I'm not religious, but I have a strong belief in God. I'm not one to walk around with a pocket bible and pass judgment on someone else's beliefs, but I know that when someone say something that crosses that line, I strongly disagree with that person. I can't disagree with Jay-Z, because he never said what he's being accused of.
Now, I'll admit, there's Hip-Hop that's "degrading" toward women, violent, and other things that don't sit well with people, but you have to try and understand: for the people that that music is aimed toward, violence, selling drugs, and disrespecting women who are willing to take disrespect is a REALITY for these people. Saying more than 90% of Hip-Hop is about Money, Drugs and Women is an inaccurate depiction of the Genre. Because despite what many people think, Hip-Hop is a Genre of Music.
I don't endorse some of the things that artist put out, but it's not very fair to pass judgment on a whole Genre of music and every artist that's in the Genre just because of a number of artist that are catering to their public. There's tons of positive Hip-Hop out there, there's even religious Hip-Hop from such artist as Kirk Franklin. To say that all Hip-Hop is Satanic and Anti-Christ, you have to be a closed-minded buffoon to keep fueling his banter.
This Preacher fails is preaching false things. The brain cannot decode a backwards message, it's a proven fact. He also fails to mention that this "backwards message" did not come from the Black Album, but the Grey Album. Not only that, but most likely, the song isn't being played backwards, it's being played forward, I'll probably look into it, if possible.
To cut myself short, you shouldn't pass judgment on a Genre of music based on false accusations. It's honestly silly.

i listen to rap, rap songs are bout rap artists's life, see if your born in the ghetto and you been through the worste, you start to relate to what some of the rap artist are saying, and hip hop is a way of life, you cant just critisize people for what they listen to,also the name 3 six mafia comes from knowing what is it to go through living "hell" in the ghetto. Their music broadcasts the evil of men n women have to do to survive in the streets,so by choice they chose the name 666 Mafia

1st of off everybody claim they have the solution to the problem we must 1st understand this everybody won't be reached the same this same argument is the samething that Paul rebuked Peter about(Galatians 2:11-14)for all you bible readers. How can you tell somebody else how to get save when we ourselves have to repent daily if you listen Craige Lewis message theres no love there all he talks about is condeming people of the world when Jesus said "I didn't come to condem". We can't judge people saying they are going to hell because they can be on there death bed and accept Christ into there heart and they are saved we as men and women of GOD are suppose to be the light to the world. Even Jesus rebuked the church but he showed passion to those that we sinners to say hip-hop was created by the devil is someone with a personal view so biblically educated but spiritually dumb satan don't have the power to create anything but a lie and the word of GOD will tell you that. The only thing he can do is take something GOD created and spoil it but don't think GOD don't have a backup plan see christian hip-hop, christian poetry, christian art paintings etc is just used to reach people so on the day of judgment we won't have any excuse because the lord has placed his word in every form. Again we seem to forget that the gospel must be preached through out the world then the end will come Craige Lewis says tht his whole job is to "keep hip-hop out the church" but he's not concerned with your soul or anybody else soul so I ask each of you to examine yourselves lets stop trying to change people and point them to Jesus he will do all the changing. And as Jesus would say "Let anyone among you who have not sinned let him cast the 1st stone". Also John 3:16 "GOD so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life and also Jesus called Peter to minister to the jews but on his way ministering to the jews he ministered to the gentiles and Jesus called Paul to minister to the gentiles but on his way ministering to the gentiles he ministered to the jews so if any Holy Hip-Hop artist reads this let GOD allow Craige Lewis to kick against the pricks because the church is our primary area anyway we have work to do. We don't need to focus on this lets continue to teach people we are saved by our faith in christ and not what clothes you have on because people where suits in church every sunday and they are the biggest devils even the ones in the pulpit.

Let me make a correction at the bottom I said that the church is our primary area. I meant to say its not our primary area because we aren't limited there because we don't want to box GOD in.
