You elected them to positions of power. They determine how hundreds of millions of your tax dollars are spent and they chart our city's future. It's a big job for any member of the San Antonio City Council. So, why are some of them shopping, checking sports scores and booking vacations online during city council meetings? [...] At this city council meeting last June, council members voted on the mayor's controversial plan to redevelop Main Plaza. Before their vote, they heard from citizens who supported and opposed it. But city internet logs show during that same public hearing some council members were playing on the internet. These computer logs ... show some were checking their personal e-mail, reading news websites, even shopping for toys and tennis equipment.
