Couldn't agree more with this:
[We] have noted with concern that the values of tolerance are eroding and there is now shrinking space for others' religious, social and cultural values.
This blog has always been about freedom of speech, about promoting an unfettered exchange of ideas and opinions. So the statement above, from the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), is most welcome, in my book. It hopefully serves to remind Muslims that the throngs of impossibly thin-skinned, violence-prone, holier-than-thou grievance junkies in their midst should face the fact that the West's hard-fought "social and cultural values" include the right to peacefully state pretty much any heartfelt opinion; and that threatening non-believers with bodily harm and death is not an acceptab—
Oh. Sorry. Never mind.
The OIC did release that statement bemoaning the demise of "tolerance," but only as an expression of its anger and indignation over a new set of — wait for it — Danish cartoons.
These particular drawings haven't even been published, and weren't likely to see print until the perennially seething mass of Mohammedans turned the obscure existence of the amateur doodles into bona fide news.
By the way, if anyone knows if and where the new drawings can be found on the web, please let me know and I'll provide a link.

UPDATE: Footage of one of the amateur cartoons being drawn is here, on YouTube. How long before the company removes it?
