Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Al Gore's Abuse of Power:

» Al Gore’s Abuse of Power from Subject to Change
Well, that’s “An Awfully Convenient Loophole” (I call movie rights on that one). How often have we been told that the science behind global climate change is not exact? Yet, somehow we understand it enough to say that one tree equals X number of hair d... [Read More]

"Ordinary people earn their 'credits' the old-fashioned way."

That sentence and the accompanying paragraph is the most succinct characterization of this controversy that I have read.

Well said.

It's always " do as I say, not as I do",
isn't it?

Wasn't getting rid of this crowd the whole point of the American Revolution?

I apologize but I have not followed the story much at all (since I really don't care that much).

It is not how much he is paying but how many kilowatts he is using. So his bill could be a biiiiiiilion dollars, but if he is paying 500K per kilowatt that ends up as not much power used at all.

Has that data been provided? Or is everyone assuming that his cost per kilowatt is the same as everyone else's?

Lee, the KWH's are the "20x" part. I'm not sure about the bill itself. It's worse than Rogier makes it out to be, anyway. It seems that Gore is purchasing his "carbon offsets" from a company that he and his wife own and operate. Do the math.

Did not click the link before (the not caring part), but after reading it...

OK so he us using more than the average. Over half of the US is using more than the average (albet not 20x the average).

What is the average usage for his size/type of home?

My usage is more than my dad's but my house is almost 3x the size of his.

Still have not figured out what the big deal is. How is utilizing a company that you own and operate not good practice as a business owner?

Yep...still not caring.
