Sometimes there's just nothing to add to an example of truly perfect, can't-touch-this insanity:
Students have been asked not to throw their hats in the air when they graduate because it is too dangerous. Anglia Ruskin University, which has campuses in Cambridge and Chelmsford, Essex, does not want graduates to throw their mortar boards into the sky in case the corner of the hat injures someone. ... [T]he statement [on the university website] reads: "It is requested that graduands do not throw the hat up into the air. This not only causes damage to the hats but it can also cause injury if the corner of the hat hits the graduand or others who may be nearby."

I seem to recall a similar "request" being made at my own high-school graduation back in 1993. I don't think anybody followed it. What are they going to do about it if the students throw hats anyway?

Obviously, anyone who disobeys must be a terrorist; and those are just the kind of people rendition was created for. The UK needs to nip this terrorist threat in the bud. I'm sure Dubya will be willing to lend a hand to our allies across the pond.
