Don't know about you, but thanks to brave North Carolina cops and their three-year investigation, I'm already feeling much safer from the intolerable evil that is the ginseng plant.

There 2 problems here, the 1st is the overbearing hand of the jack boots of course. But the 2nd problem is even more nefarious, read this from the comment section on that article: asbestos wrote: "No, this person needs to be in jail."
You see it?
It's unlikely the jack boots stumbled upon this all on their own. Probably someone, like asbestos above, snitched.
About 80% of this country now consists of jack boots and snitches.
All of them need to be eradicated so the rest of us can live as we should.

Not sure I see the difference between this and hunting/fishing regulations. Its legal to catch a bass with a sportsfishing license, but generally not to sell it. Likewise with deer.
Ginseng takes a long time to grow, and when you're harvesting it on public land, I don't have any issues with limiting the takings of that.
