When Hiram Monserrate was ousted from the NY Senate, it seemed like a pretty good case of "garbage in, garbage out" to me.
But now the man who defended the sanctity of marriage by voting no on marriage equality and who then went home to punch and cut his girlfriend is seeking re-election.
Seriously, who votes for disgraced felons pols like Monserrate? I can't wrap my head around it.

"garbage in, garbage out"? I much prefer it as Garbage In, Gospel Out"! Seems apropos to the post below this too!

I've been comparing our govt to a spouse abuser and we're the abused that keeps believing and coming back... this is a little too literal!

I can't get my head around the notion of voting period.
People that choose others to rule over them have something wrong with their circuit board and should be DX'd.

It isn't a new problem. If a pol apears to be shoving money at constituents, nothing else matters.
One of my favorites is Mayor Curley of Boston, who was re-elected while sitting in a Federal prison cell for fraud.

Is the correct answer "Diebold"?

"Who votes for disgraced pols...."? Seriously? That's easy: everyone who votes for any of about 99.9% of those pols who are up for election.

We still doesn't know Hiram Monserrate's motives in doing such an act.
