I find that detached bemusement typically works better. Otherwise you're just becoming terribly confusing. Or confused.
For instance, I don't quite know who your triple outburst is meant for. Are you taking aim at your poor host (who, by the way, and in case you really hadn't figured that out, is an atheist)? At Mr. Smith? Born-agains? All Christians?
